Twingate Supplemental Privacy Notices

Last updated: March 13, 2025

This page provides additional information about how we process and handle certain data provided to Twingate in connection with the specific Twingate products and services identified below. The main Twingate Privacy Policy also applies to each of these products and services and we encourage you to review that document as well.

Browser Security

This section only covers data provided to Twingate in connection with the use of Twingate’s Browser Security product (“Browser Security”).

About Browser Security

Browser Security is a component of a security service provided by Twingate to its customers (typically business organizations) to provide them with additional security relating to web browser activities. Those organizations may require their end users to install, enable and use the Browser Security software (which takes the form of a browser extension) on their web browser. Those organizations are also responsible for determining how Browser Security is configured and operates, such as what security policies Browser Security should enforce.

Information Collection by the Browser Extension

The Browser Security browser extension performs most of its activities on-device, meaning that while it monitors activity occurring on the web browser on which it is enabled, that monitoring occurs locally on the device. The browser extension only reports limited information back to Twingate for the consumption of the Twingate customer that has configured it. If a DLP policy is applied by the customer, personal information that is logged may include actions taken by an end user in the browser, but not any details about the content of that action. For example, the browser extension may report that an end user attempted to copy text from a webpage, but does not report the text itself. The browser extension may also report diagnostic information back to Twingate for technical support and troubleshooting purposes.

Chatbots

This section applies to any interaction you have with chatbots on our websites and in our services. We denote when you are interacting with an automated system (as opposed to a human) through chat. When you submit a question or other information to a Twingate chatbot, you consent to the recording and processing of that information and of the chatbot’s responses (“Conversation”). Conversations may be collected, used, and shared in accordance with the Privacy Policy, and also to provide, maintain, and improve the chatbot and other services. Conversations may be associated with information that personally identifies you, including your contact information if you provide it when interacting with a chatbot (e.g. your email address).
